Textar expands its product range with four new brake pad sets designed for the new-generation Meritor Elsa 225-1 and Elsa 225-3 brake calipers, used by Volvo and Renault trucks since the end of 2023.

The latest Volvo and Renault brake calipers feature APR (Active Pad Retraction), also known as “Drag Free” technology. Using a spring mechanism, the brake pads are actively retracted from the brake disc after braking, reducing residual friction, fuel consumption and brake wear.
However, this technology is protected by patents, which means the original solution is not available on the aftermarket.
Textar has developed an alternative solution by including special retainers in the accessory kit, allowing the brake pads to fit perfectly into the new Elsa 225-1 and Elsa 225-3 brake calipers.
Unlike the original APR system, which uses different inboard and outboard brake pads, Textar brake pad sets contain four identical brake pads, simplifying installation while ensuring compatibility with the new calipers.
The new Textar brake pad range provides a reliable and high-quality aftermarket alternative for the latest generation of Volvo and Renault brake systems while maintaining OE quality standards and an environmentally friendly friction formulation.
