LAGO is a 60 years experienced prominent and respected producer of truck and trailer accessories: tool and storage boxes, system mudguards, fire extinguisher boxes together with other complementary products.
25+ YEARS ON THE ROAD
LAGO story begins after the Second World war, when the abundance of resources for military logistics were left in Italy by the allied troops. With this material, which had to be converted for civil use, taken apart and assembled, together with a vocation and enjoyment of forging metal, Giovanni Lago launched his body shop.
Replacement parts were often missing or in short supply, so the idea came about to start making them. This was such a success and this journey never has never been halted. In the early 90’s, entry into the company of Giovanni’s sons Fabio and Roberto leads to the founding of LAGO as we know it. They accepted the challenge launched by their father who, with foresight, passes helm of a precious heritage made of experience and work culture. Here are the stages of a 25+ year journey which is still unfolding and constantly evolving.
1996 – 2006 – 10 YEARS OF EVOLUTION
The years between 1996 and 2005 have been crucial years for LAGO is seizing the change in the industrial vehicle body market. In addition to traditional metal processing, the company adds the thermo-plastic material transformation capabilities to its portfolio, by capturing the first signals of a changing context.
Rotational moulding is introduced, shortly followed by injection moulding, decisively expanding the company experience, the technology potential and the product range. Furthermore, driven by a constant and tenacious willingness for optimisation, the company choses to introduce fully automated processing.
2016 – 2018 THE BEGINNING OF A CONTINUOUS JOURNEY WHICH IS WORKING FOR IMPROVEMENT
In 2016 an internal reorganisation is initiated through the application of Lean methods in thinking and process, aimed at improving efficiency. To be prepared and ready for the challenges of a future which is already taking place, to increase flexibility, to refine punctuality and introduce dynamism in planning and operating procedures.
